Trips To The Airport
Here are the boys yesterday--7 am drop-off at DIA.
Their flight to San Jose went off without a hitch. Elijah's first plane trip was so exciting for him, just like Austin's was when he was six. My mom took Austin to visit my sister and her family in the Bay Area, and it's Elijah's turn now that he is six! Austin was also able to go on this trip because my sister was flying up from Pasadena, and my brother decided to fly out from New Jersey with his kids-their first trip to California.
Everyone is having a blast. I'm quite jealous that Ryan and I aren't there, but we just weren't able to afford it at the time the tickets were purchased.
Ryan and I were going to head up to Steamboat Springs tomorrow, but we felt that we needed to cancel the trip on Wednesday. Turns out there was a reason....we have a family member in the hospital in critical condition.
This is not an easy situation...we're waiting to tell the boys when they get back. Your prayers would be greatly appreciated.

It blesses me that your concern for this family member is so great. So great that you would see that not being on this desired family reunion is not as important as being home and your concern for the boys and what that means to them. This makes my heart swell with love for you. My heart swells with love for you for taking a difficult situation and rising above the awkwardness of it. I hope you can read through my words that are not quite easy to understand. Love you, Trina.
I didn't mean to be "anonymous". Not sure how that happened.
Thank you, Renee. I'm glad that Ryan and I canceled our trip to Steamboat. It was the right thing to do before we even knew that this family member was in the hospital.
I'm thankful for their love, support, and respect through the years. It goes to show that family isn't about just blood ties.
